Do you have the ability to help us community outreach, fundraising, advocacy, legal advice or non-profit management? We’re always looking for new members to join our board. Tim Rehard - MFCC President

Tim Rehard - Co-Founder / President

Tim started with the organization just a few months after it started in 2015. As they were working through adopting  their first foster son, Tim and his husband, Curt Titus, were looking for a way to give to other area Foster families. Tim was drawn to the incredible impact this small group of people were having. So, as time grew on he went from just a volunteer to a branch board member to now the organization President. Tim is currently a Director of Strategy with Ticketmaster, a Live Nation company, and uses his technical experience to maintain the inner workings of the organization technology and structural efforts. Tim, Curt and their, soon to be finalized, second adopted son live on a farm with a variety of animals and a dog named Squirrel!

Rachael Siggens - MFCC Branch Manager

Rachael Siggens - Co-Founder / Branch Manager

In 2015 Rachael was helping other area organizations focusing on foster children. She saw a need for better support for children and families who support Washtenaw and other area counties. After that, she starting collecting items in her basement to help under the previous Foster Closet of Michigan organization. Within less than a year, a few regular helpers and winning a contest from IKEA around 100 children were getting assistance. Three year later with a new organization, a new Board of Directors and a kiddo named John, things are busier and more helpful than ever.

Vice President - Vacant

We are currently searching for someone to fill the office of Vice President. The role is expected to assist the President in the management of the organization. Our ideal board members will help with the following:

  • Volunteer at least 10 hours per month
  • Assist in community outreach, family advocacy, marketing, fundraising and non-profit management
  • Assist in volunteering at MFCC periodic events. Some of those are: Christmas/Holiday party, Fall party, Back to School party
Jessica Schultz - MFCC Treasurer

Jessica Schultz - Treasurer

Jessica joined the MFCC team in late 2017 after being introduced to the organization by her Mother in Law, an amazing foster care parent and advocate. Jessica is the Director of Financial Reporting & Analysis at a local company and uses her skills to support the bookkeeping of the closet. She is married to Neal and they have 2 sons, Jackson (6) and Carter (4). In her free time, Jessica enjoys being outdoors and doing all of the “mom things” that 2 small children bring. She is very excited to help the MFCC continue to grow and do amazing things!

Shari Wilcox - MFCC Secretary-Fundraising

Shari Wilcox - Secretary / Fundraising

Shari learned of the closet in 2016 after seeing an article about the Ikea makeover. She came to drop off some donations and decided to become more involved. She immediately launched a sock and underwear donation drive that collected several hundred packages, and has corralled her friends and co-workers to help with multiple projects. Shari loves fundraising, event planning, and coming up with creative ways to raise money. Shari is a UM employee of 29 years, has 2 adult sons and lives in Saline.

Lisa Marlatt - Board Member / Co-Branch Manager

Lisa retired after thirty years of working at Lenawee school libraries, which instilled in her the passion for sorting and organizing.  She has put that to good use at the Lenawee branch of the Foster Care Closet, as she recruits volunteers to sort the many bags of donations that come in weekly.  As well as helping the other Board of Directors guide the organization, she also completes the financial responsibilities for the Lenawee location.
